2026 Municipal Budget Engagement - Survey

Help us build the budget!

Residents were invited to complete a survey to provide their feedback on the 2026 draft budget. The survey ran from January 20 - February 9, 2026.

The goal of this public engagement is to gather input to identify priorities for municipal spending, and ideas on how the District can deliver a balanced budget — as mandated by provincial legislation — while maintaining and enhancing the services you rely on.

The results will help Mayor and Council better understand the priorities of Saanich residents.

How can I participate?

  • Complete the survey from January 20 - February 9, 2026. Please note you will need to register for a HelloSaanich account before taking the survey. If you are having trouble receiving your confirmation code, contact support@govocal.com.
  • Email your feedback to budget@saanich.ca
  • Attend an upcoming budget meeting (March 3, March 5, April 14)

Join a Budget Meeting

Residents are invited to join the upcoming special budget meetings to learn about the draft budget, current cost drivers, opportunities and plans for the coming year:

  • Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 6 p.m.

All Council meetings are available via live webcast, and the webcasts are recorded and include presentation materials which can be viewed at your convenience.

This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The budget is the plan for how tax dollars and other funding will be invested to provide the services Saanich residents count on, as well as to build and maintain roads, recreation centres and other important District facilities.

We want to build a budget that meets your needs while balancing what’s actually possible given the current economic realities.
