Inez Storm and Sanitary Sewer Replacement

(Inez Dr. between Gorge Rd W and Vincent Ave. - Project Introduction)

What’s happening?

The District of Saanich will be undertaking utility upgrades on Inez Dr. between Gorge Rd W and Vincent Ave. The scope of work includes the replacement of existing sanitary and storm sewer mains, services, and some manholes and catch basins.

Project Timeline

Construction is expected to begin in mid-September and last approximately 16 weeks.

Why are we doing this?

The existing sanitary and storm sewer mains condition require replacement to improve service levels and mitigate potential flooding risk in the area.

Construction Impacts

Construction work will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Monday to Friday).

Throughout construction, Inez Dr. will be closed; traffic control personnel and signage will be in-place to help local traffic, emergency vehicles, garbage collection trucks, and pedestrians through the work site. Street parking will be limited within the site.

Construction work will include breaking rock using specialized equipment to install underground mains. Removal of contaminated soil will be required. Noise can be expected during permitted construction hours.

Archaeological and tree-monitoring professionals will be on site as required.

Access to some driveways may be temporarily restricted for short periods. Public Works staff will provide advance notice to affected residents whenever possible and will work with property owners to address access needs.
