The Draft Tillicum Burnside Plan is ready for public input!

The Draft Tillicum Burnside Plan was presented to Council at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, April 27, 2026. The agenda package, including the video recording is available online: Saanich.ca/agenda.

At the meeting, Council directed Staff to proceed with community engagement and consultation.

Project Overview

The Tillicum Burnside Plan will guide future changes in the area over the short, medium, and long term (30 years) to build a livable, vibrant, and transit-connected community.

The long-term vision for the area will be influenced by the Official Community Plan’s direction of One Planet Living and the 15-Minute Community.

We are seeking your input on the Draft Tillicum Burnside Plan (TBP).

The Draft TBP provides a long-term framework to guide growth, investment, and redevelopment through land use and transportation policies. It supports the development of a complete, connected community with diverse housing, sustainable transportation, and vibrant public spaces anchored by local amenities.

A number of engagement events are taking place in your neighbourhood – register or drop by:

• Online Webinars, Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 12 - 1:30 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m.
• Open House #1, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Burnside Lawn Bowling Club
• Open House #2, Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Tillicum Community School
• Open House #3, Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Gorge Pavillion
• Online Survey, May 11 - July 13, 2026 on HelloSaanich. Stay tuned for more details!

Past engagement:

In 2025, several pop-ups, community workshops, webinars, and a survey were offered to gather input from community members and stakeholders. These sessions explored ways for introducing more housing options, providing amenities and safe connections, and designing corridors to support sustainable transportation.
