
Traffic Calming Policy
Introduction
The District of Saanich has adopted a new Traffic Calming Policy to guide how traffic calming is planned and delivered across the community. The policy sets out an equitable and transparent approach to making neighbourhood streets safer and more comfortable for everyone.

Policy approval and background
On August 18, 2025, Saanich Council approved the Traffic Calming Policy. For more information, including the final policy, background materials, and a gallery of traffic calming examples, visit the project page.

Next Steps
While the policy is now in place, there is currently no dedicated funding for traffic calming projects. Any future implementation will depend on available resources and annual budget decisions. Updates will be shared here as the program moves forward.
